Weber State University – Davis Campus

This project consisted of a 125,000 square foot (three level) classroom building along with a central plant facility to serve existing and future campus buildings. The classroom was built to a very stringent State of Utah specification and included an exercise room, various labs, a conference room, classrooms, offices, and a mechanical penthouse. All electrical was done with very high end finishes. The building included a 3000A service and an 800A emergency distribution system with an associated 350KW generator.

The Central Plant contained an additional 3000A service to feed the HVAC equipment within the building. A 30 KW generator was provided to supply emergency life safety power to the building. Due to the nature of the facility, extensive circuitry for mechanical equipment was included within the building. The central plant also included a 1400’ long utility tunnel. All work within the tunnel was rated Class 1 Division 2 explosion proof.
